The Woodlynde School Alumni Society was founded in 1985 with Donald Hewes, Woodlynde Class of 1981, as its first President. In 1987, the Alumni Relations Office, led by a newly appointed Director of Alumni Relations, was created. Concomitantly, an Alumni Association Executive Board and an Alumni Council, made up of representatives from each alumni class, were established. The Alumni Association bylaws were first published in 1990. Later that same year, Bob and Janet Hewes were the first members of the Woodlynde community to be recognized as Honorary Alumni, an honor bestowed upon individuals who show extraordinary commitment to the school.
Since the inception of the Society, Woodlynde alumni have supported the school in various ways, from participating in college panels and career days to the presentation of an annual Alumni Award to a deserving senior at commencement. Alumni have also returned to Woodlynde to assist current students as members of the faculty and staff. Many proud alumni carry on the Woodlynde tradition as parents of current students.
