The College Guidance Office provides information and guidance which will assist students in creating options that best suit each student's academic, social and emotional needs. The process begins in the sophomore year with a mock PSAT and sophomore parents' night. In the junior year students work individually with a counselor to determine their areas of interest and accomplishments and begin to match those with colleges or post-secondary programs that best allow each student to succeed. In the senior year a college guidance seminar affords seniors the time and attention needed to make their way through the application process. The goal is for all students to have several appropriate options for further education, either formal or alternative.
A College Handbook is provided to assist Woodlynde students and their parents as they research and formulate post-graduate plans. The College Guidance Office attempts to provide information and guidance which will assist students in creating options that best suit each student’s academic, social and emotional needs. The office is prepared to help students explore options including two and four year colleges as well as other non-traditional opportunities. Students and parents are encouraged to review and discuss this handbook together, then to contact the College Guidance Office with specific questions and concerns.
