Woodlynde in the Community

Woodlynde in the Community (W.I.C.) is the school-sponsored community service organization created for Woodlynde students in grades 9-12. We believe that serving others is an essential quality of good citizenship. Service to others benefits the community and contributes to the well-being of the person who performs the service. Community service helps to develop civic responsibility, teamwork, compassion, and understanding. It brings people together in a culture that emphasizes individuality. All students and teachers are welcome.

W.I.C. meets every Wednesday during lunch, and students are invited to attend one meeting or every meeting throughout the year. W.I.C. is led by student officers, who set the agenda and run the meetings with the help of faculty advisor, Chris Mellor. The students design and implement most W.I.C. activities with the support and encouragement of the faculty advisor when appropriate.
