To support Woodlynde's mission of "Empowering Every Student" today and in the future, please consider making a financial contribution to the school. Tuition alone covers less than 85% of the cost of providing the Woodlynde education and experience for each student. The remaining balance is funded through our Annual Giving Campaign, major gifts, and through the generosity of foundations and corporations. Listed below are several ways you can make an investment in Woodlynde:
ANNUAL GIVING: Cash donations to the Annual Giving Campaign directly support the school's operating budget, fund current educational programs and assist with additional needs that tuition alone does not cover. Woodlynde's initial Annual Giving solicitation is mailed early in the school year, and the campaign runs through the end of our fiscal year, June 30.
MATCHING GIFTS: Many companies provide matching dollars for employees' charitable contributions. To find out if your employer offers this benefit, please contact the Human Resource Department of your company. Some companies require specific forms to be completed for eligibility. We will be glad to assist in this process if requested.
GIFTS OF APPRECIATED PROPERTY: A donation of stock, real estate or other appreciated property can be donated to Woodlynde and provide tax advantages to the donor. The full value of the securities is usually deductible, and you may avoid the capital gains tax on the profit.
LIFE INSURANCE: Donate a current policy or purchase a new policy naming Woodlynde as the owner and beneficiary. You receive a deduction in the amount of the current cash value at the time of the donation.
T.I.A.A. (Faculty and Staff Retirement Fund): We are proud of the passion and dedication of our faculty. Their talents, hard work, and care make it possible for our students to achieve their goal of becoming confident, independent learners. Making a contribution to Woodlynde for T.I.A.A. helps us to show that our teachers' retirement is a priority for us. In 2007-2008, over $100,000 was contributed to TIAA on behalf of Woodlynde faculty and staff.
Please consult your tax advisor or accountant to determine the type of gift that is most beneficial for you. To discuss in further detail your investment in Woodlynde, please call Diane Tuppeny-Hess, Director of Advancement, at 610-293-6750.
